New Budget Director Announced

Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the appointment of Chris Harkins as Michigan’s new budget director. He currently works as director of the Michigan Senate Fiscal Agency, a role he’s held since his appointment by Senate Republicans in January 2019. Mr. Harkins is a well-known name around the Capital, having served several roles include with the House Republican Policy Office and previously within the State Budget Office under the Snyder Administration. He holds a master’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.
