Governor Calls for Investment in Affordable Housing

Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced her plan to make an investment in affordable housing in Michigan. This includes assistance for 6,000 residents, producing 2,000 rental housing units, and leveraging an additional $380 million in private funding. The $100 million of funding would come from federal relief dollars via the American Rescue Plan. The appropriation would need legislative approval.
