Local Municipalities Set to Receive Grant Funding

Jul 30, 2021

State Treasurer Rachael Eubanks announced $2.7 million is being awarded to 16 municipalities through the Financially Distressed Cities, Villages, and Townships (FDCVT) Grant Program. Locals are eligible for the program if they are experiencing one or more conditions indicative of “probable financial stress” as defined in state law. The grants can be used to fund specific projects, services, or strategies that move a city, village, or township toward financial stability. The projects can include infrastructure and public safety enhancements. The legislature appropriated $2.5 million for the current fiscal year, plus there was a $200,000 carryover from the prior fiscal year.
