This week, the House Oversight Committee voted to issue a subpoena for former Department of Health and Human Services Director Robert Gordon. As part of his separation agreement, the former director was given $155,000. House and Senate Republicans have been vocal about their opposition since news of the payment was brought to light. Former Director Gordon had a tumultuous relationship with legislative Republicans during his tenure due to his use of epidemic orders to place restrictions on businesses and residents, including closing dine-in service at restaurants for a period of time, during the pandemic.
Mr. Gordon will appear remotely before the committee on Thursday, April 29 at 10:30 a.m. To view the livestream of the hearing, please click here.
