Beginning Monday, Michigan residents over the age of 50, with medical conditions and disabilities and caregivers of children with special health care needs, will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. The change comes after President Joe Biden announced that ramped-up production will provide enough doses for 300 million Americans by the end of May. Thus far, 40% of residents over the age of 65 have been vaccinated. The state has set a goal of vaccinating 70% of Michigan residents over the age of 16.
Eligibility is slated to further expand beginning March 22, to include all Michigan residents over the age of 50.
