Attorney General Dana Nessel announced that John VanDeventer will serve as her new chief legal counsel. Prior to that, he worked as an attorney, focusing on commercial bankruptcy. He’s also worked for the Service Employees International Union, for former Governor Jennifer Granholm’s re-election campaign, and with the Michigan Corrections Organization. Mr. VanDeventer earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School.
