Looking Ahead to the Week of January 9 – 15

The North American International Auto Show held in Detroit will take place January 11-24, with the public show beginning on January 16.  For more information, please visit http://naias.com/.

On Tuesday, January 12 from noon to 2 p.m. the Governor’s Recycling Council will hold a meeting at Lansing Community College.  Public comments will be received from 2 – 3 p.m.  The registration deadline to participate either in person or via webinar is January 8.  To RSVP please visit www.deq.state.mi.us/eforms/RecyclingMeeting.html.  For more information, on the Governor’s recycling initiative, please visit www.michigan.gov/mirecycles.

On Tuesday, January 12 at 9 p.m., President Barack Obama will deliver his final State of the Union address.  For more information, please visit www.whitehouse.gov/sotu.

The House and Senate are scheduled to be in session on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Thursday, January 14, the bi-annual Consensus Revenue Estimating Conference will be held at 9 a.m. in Lansing.  Leadership in the House and Senate will use the economic forecasts and revenue estimates presented at the conference to draft the state budgets for the upcoming 2016 – 2017 Fiscal Year.  MLC will post detailed information on the conference on our blog that afternoon.
