This week, the House of Representatives voted to adopt a resolution urging State Representative Larry Inman to resign from his seat. In May, Representative Inman was indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly offering to trade a vote for a campaign donation. The vote in question was on repealing Michigan’s prevailing wage law and the discussion occurred via text message. Following the indictment, House Speaker Lee Chatfield (R-Levering) removed him from his committee assignments. House Resolution, introduced by Speaker Chatfield, passed the House by a vote of 98-8.
Representative Inman is serving his third term in the State House. Prior to that he served on the Grand Traverse County Commission for 22 years.
