Governor Announces 2016 State of the State Address

This week it was announced that Governor Rick Snyder will deliver his sixth State of the State address on Tuesday, January 19 at 7 p.m. As with previous years, MLC will email a recap of his address that night. Prior to the address, we will provide information on where it will be broadcasted.

In addition, the Governor also announced a contest to design the 2016 State of the State program cover. The contest is open to Michigan high school, junior high, and elementary students. Those wishing to enter need to submit their original design by Sunday, January 3, 2016. The top five designs will be shared on the Governor’s official Facebook page on January 5, and then the design with the most “Likes” by January 8 will be used. The winner and one guest will be invited to meet Governor Snyder and attend the 2016 State of the State address at the Capitol Building.
