Primary Election Overview: 81st House District

District Overview

The 81st House District is located in St. Clair County.

Commentary

Representative Dan Lauwers (R) can’t run for reelection due to term limits, leaving this seat open. The district has a 66% Republican base, making the primary race key to who will most likely represent this district in January.  The packed Republican field also includes a former House candidate, township clerk, a public-school superintendent, and a former legislative staffer.
