Through the primary election on August 7, on every Tuesday and Thursday on the MLC Blog we will be highlighting races for which the primary is the key race due to the voter base. Candidate’s website and professional information is listed when available.

District Overview

The 9^th Senate District is located in Macomb County. The district includes Center Line, Eastpointe, Fraser, Roseville, Warren, and a portion of Clinton Township. The district has a 61% Democratic base.

Commentary

Democratic Senator Steve Bieda is term limited from running for this seat again, leaving it open. In the Democratic primary race, former State Representative Paul Wojno will benefit from name recognition in the district from his time in the legislature.

Paul Wojno – Warren City Clerk, former State Representative
