Legislature Adopts Global Day of Change Resolutions

Oct 13, 2017

On Thursday, the House and Senate adopted resolutions recognizing Saturday, October 15, 2017, as the Ronald McDonald House Charities Global Day of Change in Michigan.  The event is in commemoration of the very first Ronald McDonald House that opened on October 15, 1974.

Ronald McDonald Homes serve to help families stay nearby when a child is hospitalized, while providing a home environment.  But McDonald’s doesn’t do it alone, they also rely on donations from the public who have been generous supporters of the cause since its inception.  In 2016 alone, spare changed dropped in donation boxes throughout the country helped raise $28 million.  The organization also has a significant global footprint, as Ronald McDonald’s Houses are present in 90% of the top children’s hospitals worldwide.  “MLC is proud to work with McDonald’s, who through their charity organization, makes a significant, positive impact in the lives of families worldwide,” said Brendan Ringlever, MLC Partner.
