The Michigan House CARES Task Force is asking Michigan residents for ideas that could help with mental health challenges faced in the state. The bipartisan task force was created earlier this year and is comprised of legislators who will work to develop legislation reforming Michigan’s mental health services; specifically addressing veterans’ care, substance abuse treatment, mental health courts, and training for law enforcement.
According to the task force, examples of ideas they are looking for include better support for veterans, additional attention to substance and opioid abuse, improving mental health courts, and reducing prison recidivism.
