Flint Water System Now Meets Federal Standards

According to information provided this week by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to the Mayor of Flint, the city’s water system is now testing below action levels of the Federal Lead and Copper Rule.  Additionally, the levels are comparable to cities with similar size and age of infrastructure.

The DEQ provided the Flint Mayor with a series of actions the city must continue to take in order to remain in compliance with the Lead and Copper Rule and the Safe Drinking Water Act as a whole.  Steps include the continuation of corrosion control treatment and continuing to monitor the corrosion control treatment on a daily basis.
