Barring any further appeals, the presidential recount in Michigan has been halted.

The House passed a package of bills requiring a voter to show photo identification prior to casting their ballot, with certain provisions.

A House committee reported a bill requiring that an individual requesting an election recount cover the full cost of recounting the ballots.

Michigan’s 21st Century Infrastructure Commission released their report, outlining more than one-hundred recommendations for both the short and long-term goals.

The House Local Government Committee reported a bill requiring an annual report by local governments whose actuarial accrued liability for retiree health or pension is less than 60% funded.

Legislation moved forward this week that would allow certain freeways to increase the speed limit to 75 mph and certain trunk line highways to increase the speed limit to 65 mpg.

The legislature has a busy final week before the end of the two-year legislative term.
