House Candidate Asks for a Recount

Joe Kent, a Republican candidate in the 46^th House District primary race, has requested a recount of the August 2 primary election results after losing the primary race by only 29 votes. Given the small margin, he filed a request with the Bureau of Elections for the recount of each of the district’s thirty-seven precincts. While the request is made with the Bureau of Elections, the recount will be handled by the Oakland County Board of Canvassers. In cases of recounts, the candidate requesting the recount pays $25 per district to cover the costs.
