Public Service Commission Releases Annual Report

The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) released its 2022 report, outlining its efforts to ensure the reliability of Michigan’s electric grid. As climate change has brought increasingly severe storms to the state, the MPSC has focused its work in this area. Additionally, within the report are updates on additional items the Commission has taken, including:

- Ordering a systemwide audit of the electric distribution systems and operations at the state’s two largest electric utilities.
- Approving changes to the MPSC’s service quality and reliability rules and technical standards for electric service governing operations of the state’s regulated utilities.
- Continuing support of aggressive tree trimming and vegetation management.
