General Election Overview: 57th House District

District Overview

The 57^th House District includes portions of Macomb and Oakland Counties, Madison Heights, Sterling Heights, and Troy.

Commentary

This southeast Michigan seat is another near 50/50 split district. While quite competitive, the Republican party has a slight advantage with a 51.5% base and given the fact their candidate represents a portion of the district in local government, they are seen as having a slight edge in this seat.

Democratic Candidate:

- Aisha Farooqi – Attorney, member of the Sterling Heights Zoning Board of Appeals.

Republican Candidate:

- Thomas Kuhn – Attorney, Oakland County Commissioner, former Royal Oak City Councilman.
