District Overview
The 29th House district is located in southeast Michigan, including portions of Monroe and Wayne counties.
Commentary
Representative Alex Garza is running for his third term, however he’s running in significantly redrawn district. He has a slight advantage, with the Democratic Party having a 52% base in this seat. In the general election, he’s facing a political newcomer, which also helps boost his chances at reelection. Given the close political makeup of the seat, this is a race to watch in November.
