Former State Representative Kathy Angerer was selected deputy director for the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. Announced by Department Director Gary McDowell, she will support his continued effort in investing in the state’s rural communities, expanding food and agriculture businesses, protecting consumers from the pump to the plate, and preserving the state’s environmental resources. She started at the department on July 18.
Prior to her new role, Ms. Angerer served as the City Manager for Hamtramck. She’s also served as Hamtramck’s director of community and economic development, as well as their community and government affairs director. Ms. Angerer served in the Michigan House from 2005 – 2010 and as executive director of government affairs of AT&T Michigan from 2011-2012.
