Through the primary election on August 2 on the MLC Blog we will highlight races for which the primary is the key race due to the voter base. Candidate’s website and professional information is listed when available.

District Overview

The 95^th House District is located in Midland County and portions of Bay and Gladwin Counties.

Commentary

Republicans have an edge in this seat with a 58% base. Three candidates are running in that primary race, including Ann Manary, a local county clerk, which will help give her a boost in terms of name recognition. However, another Republican candidate will be benefiting from name recognition. Bill Schuette, son of the former Michigan Attorney General, legislator, congressional member, and judge, with the same name is running for his first stint of public office.

Democratic Candidates:

- Matthew Dawson – Works in the cannabis industry, former business consultant.
- Larry Grell – Former Billings Townships Supervisor and carpenter supervisor.

Republican Candidates:

- Ann Manary – Midland County Clerk.
- Charles McGinnis
- Bill Schuette – Former intelligence officer, worked in public policy for Dow.
