Unemployment Rate Declines

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in June declined by one-tenth of a percentage point to 4.5%. During the month, total employment increased by 8,000, while the number of unemployed decreased by 4,000. The rate was five-tenths of a percentage point above the national rate of 4.0%.
